Chapelle Sainte Marie-Madeleine
Language(s) spoken: French
Sainte- Marie-Madeleine Chapel, dating to the 15th century, was expanded in 1697. It's the largest rural chapel in the valley, with an altar featuring a 17th century Cordovan leather antependium.
A very popular saint in the mountains, she is the patron saint of the village, and her feast day is July 22.
The Madelon fair once brought together all those came from the valley and who were given a hot vegetable soup, dotted with large pieces of bacon, and cooked in the cheesemaker's cauldron. Today, we still prepare this soup in late July, during a festive weekend in the Savoyard tradition.
