The outing goes through the park of Neuvecelle classified natural area and allows to discover the architectural heritage of the main hotels of Evian, the funicular dating back from 1905 and the chapel of Maraiche dating from the 12th century.
With its thematic gardens, the park of Neuvecelle covers 5 ha.
It is listed as a remarkable natural area. The park's mascot, the heron, lives on the edge of the park's ponds.
The walk also takes in the Royal, Ermitage and La Verniaz hotels, as well as the Grange au Lac auditorium, the venue for the 2003 G8 summit.
The funicular, dating back to 1905, takes you to Evian town center (free, open from May to September). Another point of interest is the Maraiche chapel, built in the 12th century by peasant monks. Its bell tower, a painting, a chasuble and a silver chalice have been listed since 1924.
A little extra: the Avenue de Maraiche can lead you to the Maraiche chapel on your way back.
