Do not neglect some advice before departure. Regardless of the difficulty, do some physical preparation. Indeed, the Vanoise Massif is not just mid-mountain. High mountain hikes are often more technical, so you need to do some muscle strengthening exercises.

Don't leave without a paper map or a PDF downloaded on your phone. GPX files should be downloaded to save your route and not go the wrong way.

When hiking in nature, you must respect the environment around you. Good practices include not littering on the trail or in the lake, staying on the marked path, and not camping anywhere.

And above all, before leaving, check the weather and postpone your outing if disturbances are announced: thunderstorms and rain in the mountains are dangerous.

Hikes for beginners in Savoie

Departing from Courchevel, choose from several easy hikes such as The Path of Paradise or the Deer Trail. The Deer Trail is 4 km long. As its name suggests, the Path of Paradise allows you to enjoy a heavenly panorama of the mountains. This hiking trail is 5 km long and can be completed in 2 hours and 15 minutes with family.

If you are new to hiking, there are a few key points not to be overlooked in mountain hiking. Indeed, even though many accessible hikes are offered, some trails have a significant elevation gain to take into account, especially if you are going with family, particularly with young children.

Itineraries for Experienced Hikers

Hiking lovers will be fulfilled with all the trails. For more difficulty, venture into the mountain for 10 km with the hike of the Saulire Ridge and the Fruit Pass.

The Loze Rock loop is shorter since this loop is a 7 km trail, taking you on average 3 hours to complete. It is one of Courchevel's most popular hikes and offers a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding peaks. The start of these difficult hikes is preferable only if the weather conditions are favorable.

Most of the hiking trails have an impressive elevation gain, but once you reach the top of the summit, you will be able to admire a breathtaking panorama of the Alps.
