Arêches-Beaufort

Spring

In the spring at Arêches-Beaufort, nature slowly awakens from a long winter. The fishermen, after 5 months waiting, find the rivers then the lakes in mountain. The last snow in altitude delight lovers of spring ski hikes. The mountains passes are finally accessible to cyclists with sharp calves. The marmots finally get up.

Summer

The snow has disappeared in altitude, allowing the herds to enjoy the grass of the pastures, which will give a fruity and delicious Beaufort cheese in a few months while the farmers in the valley harvest the hay that will feed the cows during the winter. Hikers, trailers and mountain bikers discover a wonderful playground, in a preserved and maintained environment, between 750 and 3000 meters of altitude, between lakes and forests, streams and pastures with the Mont-Blanc as a backdrop.

The water is present for the fishermen, for the lovers of paddle, canoe and swimming at the pool. The restaurants and their terraces, in the villages or in mountain, allow you to taste meals composed of local products. International sports competitions takes place here: Tour de France, Critérium du Dauphiné, Pierra Menta été, Trail de la Frison-Roche, etc. The traditional festivities and the animations punctuate the summer, cultural and sports.

Fall

Many outdoor activities are still possible in landscapes with wonderful seasonal colour palette.

The fishermen will tease the fario or rainbow trout one last time. A dream time to discover the rich heritage of our valley: villages, hamlets, churches and chapels, why not on the occasion of heritage days.

Winter

The herds are warm in the stables, but many visits organized in the farms allow you to discover them.

The very abundant snow in our resort allows the lovers of all kind of slides to enjoy an area between 1050 and 2300 m of altitude. Many other activities are offered: snowshoeing, tobogganing, snow walks and of course mountaineering or ski touring.

The international ski mountaineering race «Pierra menta» has been taking place for more than 35 years in Arêches-Beaufort, where the world’s elite are represented. Numerous activities for everyone, shows and sports activities for all are organized.
