An educational tour of the Pizançon EDF factory dam, comprising 7 panels: 5 basic panels and 2 fun, interactive panels.
Every day, hundreds of Drôme residents and tourists cross the bridge linking Chatuzange-le-Goubet to Romans-sur-Isère, but do they know its secrets?
The bridge is used to operate the Pizançon factory dam, a hydroelectric scheme.
EDF has set up a circuit of 7 educational panels along the bridge, enabling visitors to find out more about hydroelectricity and how the dam works. Various subjects are covered: the history of the dam from its construction in 1928 to the present day, its location on the Isère, the presentation of the dam and how the plant operates, the preservation of biodiversity around the dam and the role it plays in the region...
Discover hydroelectricity, a clean, 100% renewable energy source produced close to home.
The outdoor educational trail is open to all, every day of the year. You can get there on foot or by bike, using the Chemin des Boeufs or the Voie Verte cycle route - perfect for a family outing at the weekend!
