Courte balade sans difficulté, très agréable au bord du Rhône. En restant sur la partie en herbe, les piétons peuvent partager la voie cycliste de la Via Rhôna, en toute sécurité. Le sentier au bord de l'eau emmène jusqu'en face du château de Vertrieu.
Petit détour conseillé par le beau village de Saint-Sorlin-en-Bugey : ses façades en pierre, sa fresque médiévale, son église... Caveau de dégustation de vin dans le village.
Aire de pique-nique à l'arrivée à Vertrieu, avec vue sur le château en face.
