The memory of an industry of excellence, Soieries Bonnet is the world's largest textile industry heritage collection.

Luxurious fabrics, production tools and archives of the world of work, the Soieries Bonnet museum represents 200 years of textile production history.

Here, you can talk to former workers, admire unique fabrics designed for some of the world's leading fashion houses (Dior, Chanel...), and immerse yourself in the workings of a factory that once employed up to 1,200 people.

PREPARE YOUR VISIT

Tours of former weaving workshops, meetings with former workers, demonstrations, cultural and artistic events...

Discover the different stages in the creation of fabrics and fashion accessories, as well as the site's unique industrial heritage!

A MODEL FACTORY-BOARDING SCHOOL

Founded in Lyon in 1810, in 1835 the Bonnet company set up a factory-boarding school in Jujurieux, described at the time as "the most complete establishment in the world". Renowned for its excellent know-how, the Lyon-based company expanded from the south of France to Italy, Poland, Serbia, Abyssinia, London, New York and Paris.

EXCEPTIONAL COLLECTIONS

Linked to the most illustrious names in haute couture, such as Dior, Chanel, Yves Saint-Laurent, Lanvin, Lacroix and Valentino, the Musée des Soieries Bonnet's collections bear witness to a singular history, whether through its crafts or its workers. An exceptional heritage, Soieries Bonnet has long been more than just a factory, but a city within a city. Chapel, bursar's office, workers' housing estates, school... The site welcomed over 13,000 workers over a hundred years, and even exported its paternalistic organization to Japan.

LEAD THE INVESTIGATION

A priceless fabric has been stolen from the Soieries Bonnet museum! Find the culprit in this giant Cluedo as you discover the secrets of the workers at the French silk factory. Outdoor game only on Wednesdays,

10am-11.30am and 2pm-4pm.
