La Turbine is a major player in the film and cinema scene in the Annecy. La Turbine runs regular debates (three/month) featuring a range of different speakers, including filmmakers, actors and other cinema professionals, in partnership with local associations and key figures. In june, take advantage of open-air screen programme!
An accredited theatre
The cinema boasts a rich, diverse programme of screenings, targeting all audiences. The programme includes «general» films and specialist «art and experimentation» productions (o.v.).
The viewing theatre itself has been awarded the «jeune public» (young audience) and «recherche et découverte» (research and innovation) quality marks.
A vibrant, citizen-focused cinema
The cinema at La Turbine runs regular debates (three per month on average) featuring a range of different speakers, including filmmakers, actors and other cinema professionals, in partnership with local associations and key figures. La Turbine also participates in major events throughout the urban area, including the International Animation Film Market (Mifa), Cinémino, Annecy Cinéma Italien (Annecy Italian Film Festival), Biennale du Film Espagnol (Spanish Film Biennial) and Images Hispano Américaines (Hispano-American Images)... as well as organising the «Rencontres du cinéma slovaque et de l’Europe centrale» (Slovak and Central European Cinema Event).
Moving image education
The cinema runs three programmes, entitled «Ecole et cinéma» (school and cinema) and «Collège au cinéma», « Lycéens au cinéma » (cinema college) to promote the moving image industry among school children. It also organises specialist screenings and workshops as part of the «Passeurs d’image» (image creators) programme.
