This regular itinerary allows you to discover the listed village of Le Monal, the listed natural site of the Vallon du Clou and the peaceful Lac du Clou.
Map available at the Tourist Office of the resort.
From the Parking Les Bouleaux, continue on the forest road in the direction of the hamlet of Echaillon and continue to the classified hamlet "Le Monal". Cross the hamlet of Le Monal and continue straight ahead. Shortly after entering the forest, take a path on the left that winds up. At the first crossroads after the exit of the forest, turn right, join and turn left on the pastoral road that goes up from Chenal and follow it towards Le Clou. Take a left turn to admire the stele that has been erected on the village of Le Clou. From the Vallon du Clou pass under the dam and go up to the village of Le Clou. Continue the path on the left which goes up 170m to the lake of Clou. Same itinerary for the return.
Please note that the Echaillon car park is closed to cars during the summer season. A free shuttle bus will take you from the Mélèzes car park in the Sainte-Foy resort.
