A delightful route to discover the riches of the Combe de Savoie region, and in particular the landscapes shaped by farming and the development of local produce. All this at the foot of two of the Alps' most beautiful mountain ranges.
Whether you set off from Montmélian or La Rochette, this is a great way to get away from it all: on little-travelled roads, you'll be delighted by the variety and visibility of the route, with its never-too-long climbs and relatively gentle descents. You'll be just as delighted by the various hamlets you pass through, some of whose buildings reveal a farming dynamic that's still very much alive: it's not uncommon to find farmers selling their produce directly by the roadside: you might as well make the most of it! Once you've passed Betton-Bettonet, you'll be well away from the main traffic flows, a situation that encourages you to wander around and pay closer attention to the landscape: aren't the escarpments of the Bauges and the view of the great, often snow-capped peaks of Belledonne fabulous? Along the way, the Saint Hélène and Saint-Clair leisure centres are ideal for a refreshing stopover.
