Nestled above the gorges of the Arc, the hamlet of l'Écot awaits you. In the land where the film "Belle and Sebastian" was shot, what remains of traditional mountain homes? Let's go take a closer look… The scenery looks like it's right out of a movie set!
A backpacking adventure for young and old who love to dream. It's worth wearing the right shoes for the steady ascent from Bonneval, so you can enjoy this easy path at your leisure. Guided by the sweet scent of wildflowers and the breeze wafting across from Italy, you'll reach the hamlet and instantly feel like you've stepped into the past. In just a few steps through these beautifully preserved alleys, you'll find yourself transported back to 1960, when the chalets were still
inhabited all year round. After a visit to the Sainte-Marguerite chapel, would you like a breathtaking view of the day's big discovery? If so, then head back along the terraced path that passes by the Criou refuge, after taking a refreshing break at Pont Saint Clair. You'll get back to Bonneval with the feeling that today, you've been told a beautiful fairy tale.
