A beautiful hike with access to the mountain pastures at the summit of the Semnoz mountain, via its balcony trails. Enjoy this emblematic landscape in the Haute-Savoie part of the Parc Naturel Régional du Massif des Bauges.
This sporty itinerary takes you up the Semnoz from Gruffy, near Annecy.
Popular for its many outdoor activities, it is nicknamed the "Montagne des Annéciens".
The ascent is mostly through undergrowth, before reaching the mountain pastures of the summit plateau. Pastoral tradition is deeply rooted in the history of this area. Tomme, chevrotin and reblochon are just some of the Savoy cheeses produced here, and you'll be able to observe the work of local alpagistes.
From the Chalets de Leschaux, it's a round trip to the Crêt de Châtillon, the highest point of the Semnoz (1702 m) and a lookout point for the surrounding peaks, equipped with an orientation table.
The itinerary offers many other panoramic views, allowing you to discover the Savoyard Foreland, the Bauges, the Bornes, the Aravis, Mont Blanc and the Beaufortain.
