Walk through history along the Roman Road that linked Vienne in France with Milan in Italy. Did you know the word Séez comes from the Latin “sextum” which means six. This was a reference to where Séez was built: on the “sixth milestone” of the Roman Road.
CURIOSITES:
Le Moulin de Saint-Germain : à découvrir à l’entrée du village. Reconstruit par les habitants de Saint-Germain de 1987 à 1989, le moulin permet de découvrir les mécanismes de meunerie, le four à pain et un mini musée sur la vie des habitants d’autrefois. Il ouvre régulièrement ses portes au public pour des visites et pour ses fournées de pain de mai à septembre (dates et horaires sur le site internet : www.seez.fr)
L’Hospice du Petit Saint-Bernard : symbole d’hospitalité pour tous les passants menacés par les intempéries. Aujourd’hui l’Hospice est devenu un point d’information et un gîte restaurant.
La colonne Joux : située à côté de l’Hospice, la colonne Joux est un monolithe où trône la statue de Saint-Bernard de Menthon, patron des alpinistes.
