Alpinist Itinerary : The Eagle Rock (Rocher de l'Aigle)

In spring: Put your skis on in La Grave, or, even better, Villar d’Arène

and take the Côte Longue moraine up to the immense Glacier du Tabuchet (1800m height gain, 6 hours).

In summer: on foot from the Pont des Brebis near Le Pied du Col, 4 km east of Villar d’Arène (1780m height gain, 6 hours). This route starts off on a good path and then continues on rocky outcrops and névés before reaching the Col du Bec, followed by the north arête of the Bec de l’Homme. The Vire Amieux ledge, with its fi xed cables, leads you onto the Glacier du Tabuchet. From this point, crampons and ropes are needed to reach the Eagle rock.
