This relatively accessible ski touring itinerary offers a beautiful stroll through the Tavernette valley.

From the Granges de la Vallée Etroite (1760m), climb up the right bank of the Vallée Etroite stream to reach the Pont de la Fonderie (1897 m).
After the Pont de la Fonderie, climb the slightly steeper slopes to the west. At Clôt Solide (2200 m), follow the beautiful valley to the left, heading south, which climbs nicely and narrows, leading to Col du Vallon (2645 m).
Descent: by the same route.
Note: For the more athletic skier, it is possible to cross the Pic du Lac Blanc (2980m) from the Col du Vallon (2645m) - ascent 320m - and return by the same route, or to cross over to the Vallée de la Clarée to reach the refuges Ricou (2115m), Laval (2010m) or the village of Névache via the Chalets du Vallon.
