You'll be driving through the Saint-Marcellin region, which gives its name to the eponymous Dauphiné cheese, so you'll have plenty of time to recharge during your stops!
Join Saint-Romans and make a short detour to the medieval village of Beauvoir-en-Royans to visit the restful Carmelite convent. Continue on to La Sône, famous for its remarkable Petrifying Fountain Garden. Continue through walnut groves, orchards and dams to Saint-Hilaire-du-Rosier. Just before Saint-Hilaire-du-Rosier, you cross the Isère and enter the Drôme département. You drive to Romans-sur-Isère, today the capital of the Made in France textile and footwear revival. If you prefer architecture, Romans-sur-Isère also offers a rich heritage where Romanesque art blends with Gothic art... and the industrial era.
