Journans, a small treasure blocked at the entrance of a combe at the foot of the chapel St Valérien offers all the characteristics of a village in the heart of the vineyards. This walk has for line of sight between Mounts, valleys and forests the discovery of the small heritage.
Journans presents the traditional architecture linked to the villages of the Revermont winegrowers: stone houses, with a stoop sheltering the entrance to the vaulted cellar.
Strolling through the picturesque streets of Journans allows you to revive a rich past around the culture of the vine.
It is also an opportunity to discover the source of the Reyssouze, the emblematic river that crosses the Bresse region. Located at the foot of a wooded slope, the river rises from a karstic spring where it fills two basins before crossing a 19th century wash house.
At the top of the village, the parish church dates back to the 17th century (1659-61); it is dedicated to Saint-Vincent, patron saint of winegrowers.
