Pets allowed: Non
La Côte d’Aime is on the Versant du Soleil (south-facing side) of the Tarentaise valley and includes 10 hamlets that combine modern and traditional architecture.
From the lsère river (665 m above sea level.) to the peak of Le Roignais (2 995 m), via the famous Pierra Menta, La Côte d'Aime has many assets:
- Its historical & architectural heritage: La Fruitière museum (in the dairy where Beaufort cheese, known as the "Prince of Gruyères" is made), the olden day schoolroom, a baroque church and chapels
- Its natural heritage of vineyards and apple orchards, forests, Alpine pastures, mountain lakes, climbing routes and a beautiful area for cross-country skiing or snowshoe hikes, with superb views of the surrounding mountain peaks.
What to see and do:
• The village of Montméry for its traditional architecture.
• The baroque church of St Laurent, chapels and oratories.
• La Fruitière museum and its exhibition
• The olden-day schoolroom
• Hiking: on the GR5, through the Alpine pastures of Mont Rosset and the Foran valley, towards Presset and Portette lakes.
• Climbing: Pierra Menta, Grande Parei, Aiguille de la Nova and Dalles de Gargan.
