Housed in one of the oldest houses in Culoz, dating from the 16th century, this themed house, run by the Culoz Patrimoine association, invites you to discover the past of the town of Culoz, from Mesolithic times to the present day.
At La Maison du Patrimoine you will find :
- The history of the Serpollet brothers, Henry Dunant, Gertrude Stein and Jules Giguet,
- The former Rectorie, converted into a classroom in the 1950s and dedicated to the Mesolithic Man of Culoz.
- The medieval kitchen, furnished as it was in days gone by, with its adjoining storeroom,
- Culoz's industrial heritage: CIAT, Valisère, Martini-Rossi, the SNCF station, the electricity factory, and many others.
- The room dedicated to locomotion: the story of the Serpollet brothers (forerunners of the motor car) and an evocation of Culoz's important railway life,
- The town's industrial and craft past, evoked through the Dumont brothers' 1887 electric factory, CIAT, Valisère, Martini and La Sabla,
- The mineral and archaeological collections.
