A charming 13th-century château offering all the modern comforts and a real change of scene. The amazing views cover the Alpine foothills and the Jura region as well as Le Bugey and the confluence of the River Rhône downstream from the dam.
This charming Dauphiné manor house on the banks of the Rhône dates from 1680. The 700 m² château is just one of three in the village of Vertrieu, the most ancient dating from the 13th century. We propose 2 apartments, each fitted with a kitchen, and 5 guestrooms including 3 suites.
The Fortified Manor House is a gite that sleeps 10 people in the 13th-century château, just 2 minutes away from the apartments. The landscape is a haven of tranquillity with breathtaking views of the mountains of Le Bugey and the Alpine foothills. The grounds stretch across more than 9,000 m² on the edge of the river and offer perfect calm. There are 3 terraces and a plunging view over the château gardens as well as a 360° panorama. This accommodation is ideal for nature-lovers and sports fans, with activities including walking, hiking, climbing, swimming, cycling (Via Rhôna cycle path) and paragliding, as well as cultural tours. Just 30 minutes from Saint Exupéry and Saint Vulbas Airports (for business travellers).
Fully equipped, free Wifi, coffee maker, high-quality mattresses with toppers and organic bed linen and towels.
