In southern Bresse, a number of ponds remain, just like those in nearby Dombes. Among them is the Bizadan pond, a rather original relic of ancient times.
The pond's marshy banks are teeming with water... and life!
Covered with aquatic plants and set in a forest setting that takes on beautiful colors in autumn, it offers a variety of natural landscapes to admire through the seasons.
"ENS de l'Ain :
The Bizadan pond marsh was awarded the "ENS" label by the Ain Department in 2017. Real natural and landscaped jewels of the Ain department, the sites benefiting from the ENS "Espaces naturels sensibles" label are managed to preserve the biodiversity they host and developed for opening to the public (barring exceptions due to the fragility of the environments).
