Located in a former Renaissance-era mansion, and run by the 'Association des Amis de Montmélian et de ses Environs', the Musée presents the history of the town and its ethnological and archaeological heritage.
Copy of the floor-plan of the fort (1693), models of the medieval citadel and the dyke of the Rivière Isère, etchings, maps and plans of the citadel.
Reconstruction of a clog-maker's workshop, carpentry and Cordelier club.
Gallo-Roman objects from regional archaeological excavations (Gallo-Roman cemetery de la Perette).
