The Musée du Vieux Pérouges is a folk museum located in a former nobleman’s house in the centre of Pérouges. The museum displays a range of objects from the past and has a medieval garden and a weaver’s workshop.
The first 2 rooms of the Musée du Vieux Pérouges house objects form everyday life from down through the ages in Pérouges. These include items such as furniture, cooking utensils, tools and weapons. In the next rooms there are exhibitions of contemporary art and photographs. Then you as you go up the watch tower you will find the weaver’s workshop and at the top of the tower there is a magnificent view over historic Pérouges and an orientation table explaining some of the sights. The visit to the Musée du Vieux Pérouges ends in the medieval garden which contains many exotic species of plants and flowers.
