Housed in the former wash house of the village of Cerin this museum displays the fossils of the fish and reptiles that inhabited a tropical lake that existed here 140 million years ago. A pedestrian path goes to the quarry.
Founded in 1986 the Cerin Museum was the first paleoecological museum to be open in France. The museum exhibits amazing fossils of animals, plant and marine life that lived in and around a tropical lake that existed in present day Bugey 140 million years ago.
