Parc de la Cerisaie - Parc Chazière

Opening period

Throughout the year : open daily from 8 AM to 7 PM.

4.5 ha tree-planted park designed by the landscape gardener René-Edouard André featuring a large collection of oak trees (species rarely planted in gardens): Turkey oak, French oak, Sessile oak, etc.

The park is named after its old cherry orchard.

The Tuscan style villa was built between 1911 and 1913 by the architect Joseph Folléa (1867-1927). The painter Louis Bardet decorated the walls in 1913. There are contemporary statues of César, Takis, and Markus Raetz in the park, accompanied by sculptures in the round of female sphinxes and ornamental motifs.

The property belonged to the Gillet family, owners of the chemical factories on the banks of the Saône. The city purchased it in 1976. A vine was created in 1986 by the République des Canuts.

There are two games areas for children, a fitness trail and an orientation trail open at weekends.

Dogs and bicycles are not permitted.
