The Place Saint-André is one of the most lively places in Grenoble. It is also known as "Place du Trib", in reference to the former courthouse which was located here up until 2002. Tourists, students and locals come here all year round.

Dominated by two major buildings in the city's history, the former courthouse and the collegiate church of Saint-André, it is also home to the Café de la Table Ronde, Grenoble's oldest bistro, and one of the oldest in France...it opened in 1739! In the center, the statue of the Chevalier Bayard reinforces the heritage dimension of the site. In this majestic setting, the square is particularly lively and animated, especially on summer evenings.
