Within the Ecrins National Park, this large mineral lake, perched at an altitude of 2493 meters, is a very pleasant hiking destination. Note the presence of marmots, chamois and ibex in July and August.
Depart from the Col d'Ornon and follow the direction of Lac du Vallon via the Entrance to the Col, Le Vernay, Le Pied du Vernay, Les Sufflets, Les Siauds, Côte Plane, Rochers de Serre Bernon, Fontaine du Gros Fayard and Les Charmettes. Follow the signs towards Lac du Vallon via the Cabane de la Vache. Return by the same route in the heart zone of the Ecrins National Park, specific regulations.
