This family hike combines two interests: firstly, the discovery of the Tétras-Lyre, the emblematic bird of the mountain and, through it, its habitat and the interaction between man and nature. Secondly, the panoramic views from the Jaillet ridge.
Starting from the Megève Ball Trap, drive through the Aravis foothills to the Col du Jaillet.
This beautiful ridge is at the gateway to the Aravis chain's natural zone of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest.
Along the way, you'll be able to contemplate beautiful views of the Roof of Europe and admire many rare and protected species, such as the Golden Eagle or the Carex and its Cotton-grasses: plants with a tuft of cotton at the top.
As you make your way up to the Col, you'll follow the Tétras-Lyre theme trail through the forest, lined with question-and-answer panels to help you learn more about this typical alpine bird.
