This ski touring itinerary provides easy access to the Drayères refuge.

Favourable period: Feb/May
Ascent: from the narrow valley barns, climb up the right bank of the Vallée Étroite stream to the Fonderie bridge (1897 m). Overcome the slightly steeper slopes of the former Blanchet mine on the left. Continue west to Prat du Plan (2200 m), and head for Lac Lavoir (2281 m).
Climb the beautiful valley on gentle slopes (west) then (north-west) towards Lac Chardonnet (2599 m). Climb steeper slopes to Col des Muandes (2828 m).
Descent: by the same route. Start early, as the last slopes of the Col des Muandes face east.
Observations: from the col, you can easily reach the Drayères refuge. Alternatively, you could do the magnificent Vallée Étroite/Valloire traverse, for which the warden will be able to give you more information.
