This snowshoe hike, which starts in the centre of the village, invites you to discover the hamlets of Frogy and Fremoux, the walk goes through forests and mountain pastures with a panoramic view of the valley and the Mont de Grange.
In Auffaz, on the left of the ski and toboggan run towards the village center after the three buildings, there's a small parking lot with a sign for ski touring. Head uphill towards the forest. Continue along the edge of the forest, then cross the bridge into a vast meadow. Cross the ski slope, then join the road further up on your right, then climb into the forest along the stream to the Vellard farm. Take the wide track on your right to the first intersection and follow the path in front of you, towards Frémoux dessus. The view of the Abondance valley and mountains is superb. Between the houses, follow the meadow on your right to start your descent towards Frémoux Dessous, skirting the power line. From here, follow the path on your right to find the uphill route to Vellard and Abondance.
