Awarded the ‘Vélo et Fromages’ (Bike and Cheese) label, this pre-alpine route begins with a beautiful incursion into the heart of the Aravis via the valley bottoms, then winds its way through the hills of the foothills, mostly on small roads.
This beautiful pre-alpine circuit passes through three remarkable towns that deserve a break and a stroll of discovery: Thônes, the capital of the Aravis mountains, the listed medieval town of La Roche-sur-Foron and Thorens-Glières, dominated by its medieval castle.
Points of interest
A wide variety of road sections, including the Col des Fleuries, an unassuming pass that has already been used by Tour de France riders.
Cycling advice
A great loop that can be done very early in the season, given the low altitude of the Col des Fleuries.
