The "fish" shoe is inspired by the painting "Les Poissons noirs" by Georges Braque in 1942. Its creator, André Pérugia (1893-1977), was equally inspired by the artists of his time, the Orient and the decorative arts. A passionate designer with an inventive spirit, he loved to explore, experiment and innovate. His shoes reveal an extraordinary diversity of shapes and materials. The Musée de la Chaussure is fortunate to house the largest André Pérugia collection in the world. It bears witness to his major role in the history of footwear. André Pérugia's oeuvre is immense, and the finesse of his work continues to be admired by contemporary designers.
