This tour is brought to you by the Valence Tourist Office. A brochure is available on our premises.
This neighborhood has retained the village atmosphere it once had. This slightly off-the-beaten-track walk takes you past houses built in the 60s. The canals feed a multitude of small private gardens and a beautiful group of shared gardens, giving you a taste of the countryside.
You'll also take in part of the smugglers' circuit along the way.
Leaving from the Tourist Office.
Cross the crosswalk at the Fontaine Monumentale. Take Rue des Alpes in front of you, then Rue Faventines as far as the roundabout.
At the roundabout, turn right onto rue Jean Jaurès.
At the canal, turn right onto the path and continue to the parking lot. Turn left and drive up the car park.
Cross rue du Maréchal Joffre and turn slightly left onto the canal-side path. Follow this path, crossing rue du 4 Septembre slightly to the right. Follow the canal all the way to rue Thiers, which you cross to join the canal-side path in front of you.
At the end of the path, turn left into Impasse du Grand Charran, which you follow until it crosses Rue Marc Sangnier.
Turn left into Rue Thiers and follow it up to Rue Marx Dormoy.
Turn right, then right again on the canal-side path (which will be on your right again) to reach Rue Jean Jaurès.
Cross the street and turn left up the sidewalk. You will come to rue du 4 Septembre, then rue du Marechal Joffre. After this crossroads, continue straight ahead for about 200 m, then turn right to follow the canal (which will be on your left).
At the end of the path, turn left again onto rue Faventines to the roundabout at the starting point.
