One of the routes of the via ferrata du diable. The Chemin de la Vierge offers a wild itinerary alternating between walls, paths and footbridges. Direct access via a footbridge (follow the signs) from the Redoute Marie-Thérèse parking lot.
The Chemin de la Vierge is one of 7 routes on the Via Ferrata du Diable, stretching between the forts of Esseillon and the vertiginous gorges of the Arc, at the foot of the resorts of Aussois and La Norma.
The descent from the Visitation is a fairly difficult downhill traverse (2 wooden footbridges) with alternating rocky passages and footpaths, culminating in an original ladder (20 m descent with a view over the gorge). A 100-metre trail then leads to the Assomption rise. The last rise features a short, athletic section and, above all, a splendid and impressive final traverse above the Nant waterfall. Finally, the Passerelle de la Vierge elegantly crosses the stream.
