Les Rois Mages is the most impressive route on the via ferrata du diable. With three breathtaking footbridges: a Nepalese bridge, a monkey bridge and the "Melchior footbridge" (82m, the longest via ferrata in the world)!
A very fine via ferrata at "sporty" level for adults and teenagers aged 12 and over. Definitely the most spectacular of the 7 sections of the via ferrata du diable.
The route owes its name to its 3 footbridges: the Gaspard footbridge, the Balthazar footbridge and the Melchior wooden footbridge. Here, the gifts of the Three Wise Men are adrenalin, thrills and vertigo. Sensations guaranteed, even for those with little sensitivity to "gas"!
Total length: 300 m
Rating: TD+ (very difficult), for experienced climbers
Duration: 1h to 1h30
Start from the lower batteries of Fort Victor-Emmanuel, through the right-hand loophole.
Les Rois Mages is the most recent of the 7 Via Ferrata du Diable routes, which stretch between the Esseillon forts and the vertiginous Arc gorges, at the foot of the Aussois and La Norma resorts.
