Cross the Devil's Bridge, and engage you in the highest section of via ferrata du Diable, more than 200 m high, with some slope and a wonderful outlet in Fort Victor Emmanuel.
The Montée au Ciel starts at the Pont du Diable. Once you've hooked on to the lifeline, you're off to the highest section of the via ferrata du diable.
The via passes under the bridge and traverses upwards, with a succession of ledges and small, sometimes vertical walls. The entire first section is fairly difficult (AD).
We then reach a large dihedral ideal for a break (on the south face, bring a drink). A 3-meter descent leads to a traverse. We pass a very short overhang, then a nice steep wall. At the top, the Hirondelles overhang accentuates the difficulties, which are followed by a traverse on a beautiful detached scale to reach the last vertical wall a little further on. The exit to Fort Victor-Emmanuel is magnificent.
All along the way, impressive views of the Arc, the river that flows at the bottom of the gorge, 200 metres below you.
