Au départ de Motz, depuis le pont du Fier, l'itinéraire provisoire, assuré par bande cyclable avec un dénivelé important, est réservé aux sportifs ou vélos à assistance électrique. Puis depuis Serrières en Chautagne, traversée ombragée en site propre dans la plus grande peupleraie d'Europe avant d'emprunter des voies partagées à faible trafic en direction de Chanaz. Possibilité de poursuivre la ViaRhôna en direction de Belley ou de poursuivre en direction d'Aix-les-Bains par la liaison bateau-vélo ou par le TER au départ de la gare de Vions.
