A challenging descent, following in the footsteps of the old Salève cogwheel railroad.
It's a quick start, but don't forget to admire the view. You continue in the direction of Monnetier Mornex, a former holiday resort for Geneva society and the arrival point of the cog railway. You continue into a valley carved out by the flow of the glacier. Nearby, you'll catch a glimpse of Château Monnetier or Ermitage, originally a hermitage in the 18th century. You then follow the staircase carved into the rock (hikers beware). At the end of the circuit, you pass by an erratic boulder brought down during the ice ages. All that remains is to cross the bridge over the freeway to reach the bottom station of the cable car.
