Beautiful and sportive hike starting from the valley of Abondance. Exceptional landscapes in the heart of the protected natural area of Mont de Grange.
The Pointe des Mattes tour is a day hike for good walkers.
Starting from the Panthiaz car park, you will first walk along the Dranse river before starting your ascent.
This summit is one of the satellites of the Mont de Grange, which culminates at 2432 m, compared to 2100 m for the Pointe des Mattes.
You will pass by the Sur Bayard waterfall and reach Les Mattes via the Torrens chalet.
From the summit, you can enjoy a view of the mountains of the Abondance valley, its villages and the Swiss Alps.
On your way back down, you will pass by the Trébentaz refuge, in the heart of a Natura 2000 site, where you can enjoy the surrounding environment and an exceptional panorama.
