Balade : Les canaux de l'Épervière

This circuit not only runs alongside several canals, but also links up 4 of the town's main natural areas. This green corridor through the Jouvet, Tinitaires, Marcel Paul and Epervière parks will lead you to the marina.

Enjoy the view of the Ardèche mountains from the marina. The return journey takes in a section of the Via-Rhôna, the itinerary that runs along the Rhône between Lake Geneva and the Mediterranean.

Leaving from the Tourist Office. Turn right down Boulevard Bancel and Place de la République. Cross to the left to reach the Champ de Mars (towards the Mon Coeur Valence sculpture).

Behind the Kiosque Peynet, take the downhill path, cross Avenue Maurice Faure and descend the stairs to enter the park.

Turn left along the path that follows the canal (the canal should be on your left). At the intersection with Avenue de la Comète, turn left, go up a few metres and then cross over to join the 2nd Impasse de la Comète.

Follow this up until you find a footpath on your left (just before a parking lot). Follow this path along the Canal de l'Epervière through the Parc des Trinitaires.

After the Novotel (on your right), turn left up Allée de l'Epervière to Avenue de Valensolles.

Turn right and walk up Boulevard de Crussol for about 200 m, then after the Bost dance center, re-enter the park on your right and walk around (like a loop) Parc Marcel Paul.

Continue along Avenue de Provence until you reach Boulevard de Crussol again. Turn right up the street, past the pharmacy, to the crossroads with Rue Gaspard Monge.

Cross over to Rue de Mauboule and drive over the freeway.

At the roundabout, enter the park in front of you and, at the end of the driveway, turn right to drive alongside the marina.

At the end of the driveway, turn left and follow the Rhône river, after the bend take the small path on your right and enter the Epervière park, follow the path on your left up to the parking lot. Cross the car park and take the path on your left (between the Rhône river and the Epervière path). Follow the path up until you find an underpass on your right (after the river stop). Cross the Avenue de Provence and turn left onto the path that runs past the tennis courts, joining the Avenue Gambetta in front of you. Stay in the park, walk up the avenue and return to the stairs near the fountain and your starting point.
