This activity raises students' awareness of oral traditions and stimulates their imagination and creativity.
Six book hives have been installed on the La Source site. The decorations for these hives were imagined and painted by local children, and represent six Alpine tales from oral tradition. During the workshop, the children set off together to gather ideas for the hive decorations, giving free rein to their imaginations as they collectively create their own versions of the tales.
After an initial introduction to the hives and to bees and their role in biodiversity, the children are divided into groups. Each group sits around a beehive and draws inspiration from the drawings on the décor to imagine their own story. At the end of this creative time, the groups get together and tell their stories to the rest of the class.
