When the snow covers the slopes and the resort lights up, Courchevel becomes a life-size stage: outdoor shows, sports competitions, cultural events, fireworks... Every evening and every weekend offers a new experience. Here is an overview of the events not to be missed this winter.

On the way to Courchevel's 80th anniversary! Between sportiness and art of living...

From December to April, Courchevel celebrates the mountain in all its forms. Between international competitions, sports challenges, and festive moments, the resort lives to the rhythm of snow, sports, and conviviality.

This year, Courchevel is celebrating its 80th anniversary and offers its visitors exceptional events and animations. Here is an overview of the major events not to be missed for the 2025-2026 season!

December 6 & 7, 2025 - Opening Courchevel 2025

Every season, winter starts beautifully in Courchevel 1850 with the grand Opening 2025! Two days to celebrate the first descents of the season in a festive and friendly atmosphere, on the snow front.

On the agenda: DJ set and complimentary breakfast to start the day off right, Ski Tests, games and entertainment throughout the day with aperitif tasting and live concert to end this moment beautifully!

And for thrill-seekers: the famous First Track - Saturday, December 6, 2025 Exclusive descent on the Combe de la Saulire from 8:20 am, followed by breakfast at Il Rifugio and presentation of HEAD's new products. (Upon prior registration via Courchevel Tourism.)

A sporty, festive, and friendly weekend to celebrate together the launch of the winter season 2025-2026!

January 15 & 16, 2026 - World Cup of Ski Mountaineering

This year, Courchevel will host the second stage of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup, a discipline soon to be Olympic! On January 15 and 16, the world's best athletes will compete in two spectacular events: The Sprint (January 15) and The Vertical Race (January 16).

Among the favorites, French athlete Emily Harrop, member of the French team and double world champion, will be highly anticipated on her home turf. An exciting competition that will thrill the spectators on the slopes of Le Praz!

From December to February - Millet Ski Touring Courchevel

One evening per week from December to February, Courchevel Le Praz lights up for the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel, a unique night-time ski mountaineering race in France. Participants tackle a 3.2 km course with 500 meters of positive elevation gain connecting Le Praz to Courchevel 1850.

Open to all, this weekly competition attracts professionals and amateurs alike, who come to test their limits in a friendly atmosphere. The grand final, at the end of February, brings together over 2,500 participants each year in an electric atmosphere.

In February and March - International Fireworks Art Festival

The Courchevel Pyrotechnic Festival was born in the summer of 2003, initially reserved for French-speaking companies. Its originality, set in a unique mountain setting, was so successful that it was extended to the winter season and opened to participants from around the world. Since then, it has illuminated the sky of Courchevel with increasingly spectacular shows, combining technical feats and visual magic.

The event was a true festival of celebration and conviviality with entertainment, DJ sets, and dining areas, all in a warm and festive atmosphere. Snow, fire, music, and a mountain of emotions: an explosive mix for an unforgettable experience!

In 2026, the festival returns internationally with a brand new theme that promises even more creativity, surprises, and wonder. A must-attend event for all enthusiasts of pyrotechnics and grand spectacles...

Winter edition of the Les 3 Coups Festival!

In late March, Courchevel 1850 becomes the stage for Les 3 Coups, a festival dedicated to the dramatic arts. Two daily performances, workshops, and meetings with artists are organized in iconic locations such as the Auditorium Gilles de la Rocque. A cultural experience not to be missed.

April 4th - Live on the Slopes

For its 2nd edition, Live on the Slopes is returning to Courchevel 1850 for a festive and artistic day. Concerts, performances on the slopes, artisan village, and eco-responsible catering will liven up the resort from 4pm to 11pm. A day to celebrate the art of living in the mountains, between music and creation.

April 5th - 5th edition of the Winter Legacy

Created by Alexis Pinturault, this unique race combines slalom, giant slalom, super-G, and ski cross. Whether solo or in a team, participants compete on a spectacular course in an electrifying atmosphere. All accompanied by a village of entertainment and numerous festivities.

April 12th — Dynastar X3

A true vertical triathlon, the Dynastar X3 combines cycling (13.9 km - 830 m D+), trail running (6.3 km - 180 m D+), and ski mountaineering (5.8 km - 950 m D+). An epic ascent from the valley to the Saulire for the most seasoned athletes! A warm atmosphere guaranteed, between performance and sharing.

April 12 to 18 - Monitor's Challenge 2026

Courchevel will host the prestigious Challenge des Moniteurs, the major annual event of the French Ski School. Over 2,000 instructors from all French ski resorts will compete in about forty events, in a festive and friendly atmosphere. In total, more than 30,000 people are expected to attend this great celebration of skiing and camaraderie.
