Excursion: The Royal Monastery of Brou and Pérouges, the emblematic sites of Ain

10 am: Guided tour of the Monastère Royal de Brou

Discover the secrets of a flamboyant Gothic jewel! The Monastère Royal de Brou, built in the 16th century, opens its doors to you. Discover the richness of the decor, sculptures, stained glass windows, stalls, rood screen (one of the few preserved in France) and monumental tombs of Marguerite d'Autriche, Philibert le Beau and his mother Marguerite de Bourbon. Flamboyant Gothic splendor abounds in this lacework of stone. Fluting, niches, arcatures, scalloped archivolts, curly cabbage leaves... form an exceptional artistic ensemble at the dawn of the Renaissance.

3pm: Guided tour of the medieval village of Pérouges

Guided tour of Pérouges, a 13th-century weaver's village now classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France: cobbled streets, ramparts, fortress church, lime-tree square... You'll be seduced by this jewel that has stood the test of time (bring flat shoes).

To round off the day, we invite you to sample the famous "galette Pérougienne" accompanied by a glass of Cerdon sparkling wine* in a typical village restaurant.
