Glacier of Pissaillas

Lingua/e parlata/e: Francese

The Pissaillas Glacier (Alt. 3140m), on the edge of the Vanoise National Park and close to the Italian Grand Paradiso Park, is the highest point in the Val d'Isère ski area. Open for skiing in winter and summer.

The Glacier du Pissaillas on the Massif du Fornet has 2 ski lifts:

- Cascade detachable chairlift

- Les Montets ski tow, taking you up to 3,197 metres – the highest point in Val d’Isère

When you get to the top you will see another glacier in the distance: the Glacier de la Grande Motte, located in the Tignes ski area which is connected to Val d’Isère.

You can ski on the Glacier du Pissaillas in summer: from mid-June to mid-July. It’s in the heart of the Vanoise National Park.

How do I get to it?

Starting at Le Fornet, take the cable car of the same name. When you get to the top, take the Vallon gondola lift. Then ski down the “Lac Céma” green run to the start of the Cascade chairlift.

Our advice

The Montets T-bar ski tow offers an interesting experience for two!
