With the help of a large selection of photos, discover the history of the slate mines in Morzine. This limestone formed in the Alpine ocean, has been mined for more than three centuries by the locals.
The tall cliffs of the Prodains Valley are home to the areas Slate Mine. Slate has been mined in Morzine for hundreds of years and demand is arguably as high as ever!
