Weekend in Bugey Sud by bike

Day 1:

Arrival on Saturday morning in Lavours, at the Auberge de la Paillère (time to be defined).

You will be welcomed and given access to the luggage room to leave your belongings.

You will be given your travel pack and picnic basket and will leave for a first bike ride according to the suggestions provided.

Your lunch break:

* Mixed salad

* Sandwich

* Fruit or dessert / Cereal bar

* 50 cl bottle of water

Bike ride to Chanaz. On arrival, boarding for a cruise with the Bateaucanal company. You will start by passing the Savières lock to join the canalized Rhône.

Then you will go up the canal to reach the north of the Lac du Bourget. Cruise commented by the Captain.

Depending on the space available on the boat, it is possible to take bicycles on board or to leave them safely at the pier.

At the end of the cruise, you can pick up your bikes and return to Bugey to join the Auberge de la Paillère where Maxime, the manager, is waiting for you for a private wine tasting!

On the programme, presentation of three different wines and their domains, comparative test, all accompanied by a slate of charcuterie. Bugist conviviality in every respect!

Dinner at the Auberge's restaurant. Menu of the day including starter, main course, dessert and drinks (kir, bottled wine, coffee).

Night in a double room.

Day 2 :

Breakfast at the Auberge. Buffet formula from 7am to 10am.

Luggage deposit at the luggage room.

10:30 am: You are expected to visit the Lavours Copper Factory, a stone's throw from the Auberge.

Discovery of the factory, in the company of Alain Villamor, the craftsman. Demonstration of the copper embossing technique and free visit of the art objects shop.

12 noon: free lunch.

After lunch, you can continue your weekend in Bugey by following the ideas for bike rides provided by the Tourist Office.

Return to the Auberge de la Paillère, collect your luggage and return to your destination.
