Preparing your Baptism of the Air in Savoie

A helicopter flight is a unique experience. So it's only logical that you should want to look your best on this tour of the skies. However, while some clothes and accessories are good to wear, others are less so.

How to prepare for a flight

When it comes to a helicopter flight, forget high heels or uncomfortable dress shoes. Believe it or not, you don't want to slip like a penguin on the ice when you're trying to make an elegant entrance into the helicopter.

What's more, some clothes are more appropriate than others. This depends on the time of year you'll be boarding the helicopter and the weather. If you're going in winter, a long-sleeved sweatshirt under a jacket can keep you warm. In summer, we advise you to wear less clothing to keep cool.

Select your Flight Experience

To choose the type of flight you want, you have different criteria:

The flight plan and the landscapes you wish to admire

Whether or not the aircraft is privatized

Flight duration

Flight price

The price of a maiden flight from Courchevel airport varies according to the company, the duration of the flight and the landscapes explored.

Immortalize your Experience by taking the perfect photo!

Cameras are allowed on board the helicopter tour, and we encourage you to take photos as you fly over breathtaking landscapes such as Mont Blanc. To avoid reflections on the windows, consider dressing in darker colors.

You should also plan your helicopter flight around the best times of day to take photos. In general, mid-morning and early afternoon are the brightest times.

Safety and regulations

Helicopter flights are exceptional gifts, but they are not trivial. There are several key factors to consider when it comes to safety during a helicopter flight.

Flight Safety Measures

You will of course be briefed before the flight, but here's an overview of the safety measures to be observed in the helicopter:

Follow the pilot's instructions throughout the flight.

Avoid moving around inside the helicopter once seated.

Never throw objects from the helicopter.

Never approach the flight controls unless authorized by the pilot.

Never take a selfie with a GoPro or phone out of the helicopter window.

As for the safety measures to be observed once you've left the helicopter, here they are:

Leave the helicopter only on instruction and with the assistance of ground staff.

Wait for ground personnel or the pilot to open/close the doors.

Only unfasten your seatbelt when instructed to do so by the pilot.

Walk in the direction indicated by the ground staff or pilot.
