Bessans

Exceptionally situated on a vast, sun-drenched plateau, with snow from November to April, Bessans, a village surrounded by glaciers and peaks over 3000 meters, has become one of France's and the world's leading cross-country and biathlon resorts.

The only profitable Nordic resort in France, thanks in particular to its complementarity with Val Cenis and the other resorts in the area, Bessans dreams of Obertilliach, a village in the Austrian Tyrol, comparable in terms of Nordic facilities and a model in terms of hotels and charming accommodation.

Summer and winter alike, Bessans is another world where a different language is spoken, where the key words are mountaineering, racing, climbing school, refuges, ice climbing, canyoning, via ferrata, hiking and ski touring... A fascinating world, but so well connected, since it's only 40 minutes from the freeway and even less, by free shuttle, from the Alpine resorts that surround it.
