Its good early snow cover and altitude (1,450-1,550 m) make the Plateau des Glières a hotspot for cross-country skiing in the Haute-Savoie region. Between vast stretches of alpine pastures and forest sections, there are varied slopes for every level waiting for you.
The variety of the slopes, the quality of the routes and their upkeep, its proximity to large population bases, like the Annecy urban area and the Valley of the Arve, as well as the diversity of its activities, are all advantages of the Plateau des Glières. The Plateau des Glières offers Nordic skiing slopes (25 km), between plateau and forest, with levels of increasing difficulty (from green to black) representing trails of 1 to 3 hrs, or for a full day. A break allows you to taste the local specialties in a relaxed atmosphere in one of the Plateau's 6 restaurants - for some with their skis still on. Option of two entrances: via Petit-Bornand or Thorens-Glières.

The Glières bus line is expanding: from Annecy you got 3 shuttles per day on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays! Departures at 8.15 a.m., 9.15 a.m. and 10.15 a.m. and returns at 2.30 p.m., 3.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m., until March 29. Price: 1.50€ single or 3€ return (or included in the pass and Sibra subscription). Access to the slopes at normal rates.
