The fords
The Suran is marked out by numerous fords, large stones placed across the current. The banks were also built for the passage of animals. Of uncertain origins, it is probable that this use is very old.
Menhir of "Pierre fiche
It is a stone erected between Thioles (Simandre/S) and Suran, a megalith of 3,80 m high (mega : big ; lithos : stone). Unique menhir of the department, it dates from 2500 BC.
JC. A second menhir is attested since the 12th century. The function of such a monument can be : religious, sepulchral, astronomical or simple limit ?
